Clémence Goyens,  Post-Doctorat

Experience and research interest:

Following her studies in Geographical Sciences at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL, Belgium), Clémence worked for various research institutes further exploiting the capabilities of remote sensing data (among others University of Ghent in Belgium and Tropical Ecosystem Research Centre of CSIRO in Australia). This work experience brought her to apply for a second master degree in Earth Observation at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL, Belgium).
In December 2013, Clémence graduated as a PhD student at the Université de Littoral Côte d'Opale. During her thesis she focused on the validation and improvement of ocean color data in coastal waters. Her main objective was to address the issues of atmospheric correction algorithms in highly scattering waters.
In July 2014, Clémence started a post-doctoral fellowship with the Takuvik Joint International Laboratory (U Laval and CNRS, Québec) and the Aquatel Laboratory (UQAR, Rimouski). Clémence will attempt to develop a robust and reliable correction approach to account for sea-ice contamination in ocean color data processing.
